Angela Viehmayer Gaudencio is Brazilian and lives in Rio de Janeiro.
She started working as a volunteer researcher in 2002 for Teachers
Without Borders, and became their Brazilian representative for the
Certificate of Teaching Mastery (CTM) Project in 2004. Suruacá,
which is one of the communities where CEN is working, is piloting the
CTM project. Two higher education institutions are also currently
analyzing sponsorship of the program.
Ms. Viehmayer received a bachelor of Social Sciences from the State
University of Rio de Janeiro in 2005, where her research was about the
relation of basic and practical skills, and income generation within
the informal labor market. This led her to co-founding Link Social, a
Brazilian NGO whose mission is to help Brazilian communities transform
themselves.
Due to the similarity between the missions and outlook of Link Social
and CEN, Angela agreed to join our board where she serves as Vice
President.
