Position Summary

We would like to put on a modest-sized event to introduce our work to potential supporters outside of the Seattle area, where we are based, as well as to raise some additional funds for our programs. The event will last between 90 minutes and 2 1/2 hours, depending upon the size and whether we offer entertainment.

We are currently targeting New York, Boston, Philadelphia and the San Francisco Bay areas; however would consider other metropolitan areas in the US, as well. We are looking for an individual residing in one of those metro areas.

Community Empowerment Network's (CEN’s) US operations are nearly entirely driven by the efforts of volunteers. We are staffed along the lines of the Open Source development community. We have several (currently eight) Working Groups, each with its own lead who manages a number of Project Leads. These Project Leads are responsible for building and managing teams of volunteers to execute specific projects. We’re a small organization and so lines of responsibility become a little blurred at time, but this provides a terrific opportunity to take on a variety of responsibilities and to expand your skills.
